The Rise of a New Foundation

The Just As I Am Foundation will make its debut on January 12, 2007.  The Just As I Am Foundation is a resource, support, and advocacy organization for the African-American Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, and Transgender community to provide information on subjects of importance, to provide support to individuals and community projects, and to be the voice for the African-American Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, and Transgender community on issues confronting a lifestyle of equality.  Promoting unity between the African-American Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, and Transgender community and the general public, community organizations, government, and business is the ultimate goal of the Foundation.

The event will be sponsored by Ebony Pyramid Entertainment at the Sheraton Midtown Atlanta Hotel, Colony Square, in Atlanta, Georgia from 5:00pm to 8:00pm featuring light fare and an open bar.  The minimum donation for the event is $25 per person.  The reception will allow other BLGBT organizations to network and will allow them to give attendees a brief about their organization.  A silent auction will also take place with items up for bid as a cruise for two on the 8th Annual Black Gay & Lesbian Pride: Caribbean Cruisin’ – Nassau and Paradise Island, Bahamas.  You must be a paid guest to bid on items.  Just As I Am reception organizers will be accepting donation items to place on the auction list through January 10, 2007.  Prior to the reception, auction items will be listed online, with their minimum bids.  As a new start-up foundation, Just As I Am needs all the support and assistance the BLGBT can provide to help it meet its mission.

Just As I Am has major divisions that will assist with networking organizations on a national and international level.  The goal of JAIA is to assist organizations with their goals and visions and to link a deserving public to the services they provide.  JAIA will host an annual conference for all organizations and public to gather and discuss building a better community.  JAIA major divisions consist of Community and Philanthropy, Health & Prevention, Youth Outreach, LGBT Diversity, Legal Affairs, and Government, Business, and Media Affairs.  The concept is that you will be able to contact JAIA about a needed resource and JAIA will provide the information to you.

If you are interested in attending and/or supporting the reception, please visit www.jaia.org or call Ebony Pyramid Entertainment at 1-866-473-5033 extension 1.
