In a sometimes uncertain world,
we must keep Hope alive that we
shall overcome. As Dr. King
said, "Well, I don't know
what will happen now. We've got
some difficult days ahead. But
it really doesn't matter with me
now, because I've been to the
mountaintop." Although Our
America isn't perfect, we must
be greatful for the sacrifice
Dr. King and others made to
bring us this far. I only wish
that Dr. King could have lived
to see the positive that came
from his efforts. Ironically,
Dr. King seemed to have known he
would not be here with us, as
evident by his own words,
"Like anybody, I would like to
live a long life. Longevity has
its place. But I'm not concerned
about that now. I just want to
do God's will. And he has
allowed me to go up to the
mountain. And I've looked over.
And I've seen the Promised
Land."
Whatever it is that we may do on
this King Holiday Weekend, let's
keep the prinicples of Dr. King
in our thoughts and actions.
Remember we can all make a
difference. No matter how small.
If you think small things cannot
make a difference, in 1958 Dr.
King was stabbed in New York and
the tip of the blade was at the
edge of his aorta and had it
been punctured, he would have
drowned in his own blood and
died. The next morning, the
New York Times wrote that
had Dr. King merely sneezed, he
would have died. Wow! Something
as small aa a sneeze could have
prevented us from knowing the
struggles and blessed words he
gave us, such as the famous,
I Have A Dream speech. You
can make a difference. Happy
Birthday Revernd Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr.

moments of comfort and
convenience, but where he stands
at times of challenge and
controversy."
